Film Grain Overlay

The film grain overlay is a layer of fine moving grain on neutral gray that imitates the texture of 16mm film stock. Add it to phone footage to take the edge off that overly clean digital look; it pairs nicely with the Vintage Film or Matte Fade LUT for a retro style.

How to use: place the clip on a track above your main footage, switch the blend mode to Overlay or Soft Light, then lower the opacity to around 30–60% depending on how strong you want the effect. It loops, so you can stretch it over the whole video.
