iPhone won’t let you save TikTok videos straight to Photos, but you can do it with Safari and no app installed. This guide walks through every step.

What you need

Just an iPhone or iPad on iOS 13 or later and the Safari browser (recommended over Chrome on iOS for reliable file saving).

Steps to download a TikTok video on iPhone

  1. In the TikTok app, open the video, tap Share (arrow)Copy link.
  2. Open Safari, go to the TikTok downloader, tap the input box and paste the link.
  3. Press Download, wait a few seconds, then choose Video HD.
  4. Safari asks to download the file — tap Download. The file appears in Files → Downloads.

Move the video into Photos

  1. Open the Files app, go to the Downloads folder.
  2. Long-press the video, choose Share → Save Video.
  3. The video is now in the Photos app.

Why use Safari?

On iOS, Safari has a built-in download manager and permission to save to Files. Other browsers sometimes open the video in a new tab instead of downloading. If that happens, see Fix common download errors.

On Android or desktop?

The steps differ slightly — see How to download TikTok on Android or Download videos on PC/Mac.

The downloaded video has no logo and keeps its original quality. Use it personally and respect copyright.
