Sometimes a download doesn’t go smoothly on the first try. Here are the most common errors and quick fixes that get you downloading successfully in almost every case.
1. “Invalid link”
Usually you copied a partial link or pasted the wrong text. Fix:
- Copy again with Share → Copy link in the app rather than typing it.
- For Douyin, pasting the shortened
v.douyin.comlink is fine — see the Douyin guide. - Make sure the video is public; other people’s private videos can’t be downloaded.
2. The video opens in a new tab instead of downloading
Common on iPhone or some browsers. Fix:
- On iPhone, use Safari instead of Chrome — see the iPhone guide.
- Long-press the open video and choose Save to Files / Download.
- On Android, try another browser like Chrome — see the Android guide.
3. Slow or stalled downloads
- Douyin videos have servers in China, so they can be slow; be patient and watch the progress bar.
- High-quality YouTube videos need picture and sound merged, so they take longer — that’s normal. Read Choosing video quality.
- Check your connection; try a lower quality if your network is weak.
4. Can’t find the file after downloading
- Android: go to Files → Download or reopen from the notification shade.
- iPhone: open the Files → Downloads app.
- Computer: the Downloads folder — see the PC/Mac guide.
5. The downloaded video still has a logo
Make sure you pressed the download button on the tool, not the in-app save in TikTok. The tool always returns the clean original — learn more in What is a no-watermark video?.
If it still fails, try again in a few minutes — platforms occasionally change things temporarily, which can interrupt link retrieval.
