★ Add Subtitles
Add subtitles to a video, free online
Attach an SRT or VTT subtitle file to your video as a selectable subtitle track — done in your browser, with no upload.
Upload a video (MP4, MOV, WEBM, MKV…)
Have a video and a subtitle file? Upload both and download a single video file with the subtitles built in as a track that viewers can turn on or off in their player. The video and audio are copied as they are, so there is no quality loss and the job finishes quickly.
These are soft subtitles, not text burned into the picture. They work in most desktop and mobile video players, but some social apps ignore embedded subtitle tracks when you upload — if you need text permanently visible on screen, you will need a tool that burns subtitles in.
Why use this tool?
No quality loss
The video and audio are copied without re-encoding, so the picture and sound stay exactly as they were.
SRT and VTT supported
Use the two most common subtitle formats — the right format for your video's container is chosen automatically.
Private by design
Both files are processed locally in your browser and never uploaded.
Frequently asked questions
Are the subtitles burned into the video?
No. They are added as a separate track that you switch on or off in the player. This also keeps the video unchanged and the process fast.
Which video format will I get back?
MP4 and MOV videos give an MP4, WEBM gives a WEBM, and other formats give an MKV, because each container supports different subtitle formats.
Why don't I see the subtitles?
Open your player's subtitle or captions menu and select the track. Some apps and social platforms ignore embedded subtitle tracks.
Is my video uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything is processed on your device using WebAssembly.
